We tested this Canon EOS 5D Mark II body ourselves and confirmed it works properly. The shutter fires normally, the self-timer runs through its sequence, and the light meter reads correctly. The shutter count was recorded as 16,421 during our inspection. This is a 21.1MP full frame digital SLR body.

Known Characteristics of This Model

Shutter / ERR 30

ERR 30 on this model points to a fault inside the shutter mechanism. We fired the shutter and captured images; exposure was normal and no error appeared.

Main dial grip

The rubber grip on the top-right main dial can stretch and slip on the inner plastic wheel, which can make shutter speed or aperture changes unreliable. We rotated the dial briskly in both directions and the settings changed consistently.

Autofocus

This model uses a 9-point AF system that is known to be comparatively slow and can occasionally return soft images even when focus is confirmed, especially with AF point area expansion enabled.

Hot shoe

The hot shoe can loosen over time and cause intermittent communication with external flashes, which mainly affects E-TTL operation. Please keep this in mind if you plan to shoot with a dedicated flash.
